Originally born out of wartime innovation, the Swiss military—facing severe cotton shortages—blended local linen and nettle fibers together to construct their heavy-duty gear, resulting in a uniquely mottled, rugged aesthetic.

When woven into a tight twill or plain weave, this style creates a highly durable, structured fabric with a distinctively flecked face. Today, this salt-and-pepper look stands as a true staple within the vintage heritage aesthetic. To add maximum depth and character to the pattern, we carefully dyed five different types of yarn to weave this custom fabric. Our trousers capture this legacy in a 100% cotton material that feels rugged yet surprisingly soft and supple, creating a structured, stylish silhouette full of character.

A key historical feature is the traditional "Parisian buckle" or cinch back, which was originally added to the rear of dress trousers for fit adjustment. For added versatility and an authentic vintage ruggedness, we've also included suspender buttons.
